Germany Today: Responsibility and Challenges in the Heart of Europe

Consul General Sander is a native of Dusseldorf, Germany.  After earning a law degree from the University of Hannover, he entered the German Foreign Service. In addition to responsibilities in Bonn, his professional career has included assignments in New Delhi, India; Chicago, Illinois; Berlin, Germany; Budapest, Hungary; and Islamabad, Pakistan. Immediately prior to coming to Atlanta in 2012, Consul General Sander was Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Economic Section of the German Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela.

He is married to Mbehena S. “Becky” Sander, nee Mogot; they have three children.
