Trans-Pacific Partnership: Implications for the Future

Dr. Usha C. Nair-Reichert is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Programs in the School of Economics and a core faculty member at the Center for International Business Education and Research at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As part of a select leadership program of the University System of Georgia, she was also an Executive Leadership Institute Scholar from Georgia Tech during 2011-2012. She holds a PhD in Economics from Purdue University.

Dr. Nair-Reichert has extensive experience in the area of international economics and global business including international trade, operations of multinational enterprises, technology transfer, licensing, and financing and regulation of foreign trade and investments. Prior to her graduate work, she was employed in the banking sector in India where she has worked in areas related to trade and foreign exchange regulations, imports and exports, joint ventures, technology transfer, and multinational investments. She was also part of a select management team that collaborated with IBM and was responsible for integrating new computerized check processing technology into the banking system in India.

Dr. Nair-Reichert’s current research interests includes the dynamic of international trade, multinational investments, trade policies, and their implications for global business strategy, intellectual property protection, innovation, R&D, technology licensing, and sustainable economic development. Her works have been widely published and she has been called upon to address audiences on four continents.
