U.S. Security: A Threat Assessment

A former senior government official, Dr. Kennedy returned to his position as Professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003 after serving as Director of the George C.  Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Germany.  In nearly 35 years of government service, Dr. Kennedy has also served as:Civilian Deputy Commandant, NATO Defense College, Italy; Dwight D. Eisenhower Professor of National Security Studies at the U.S. Army War College; Senior Researcher at the U.S. Army Strategic Studies Institute; Foreign Affairs Officer, U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency; Officer and Command Pilot with the U.S. Air Force; an enlisted man in the U.S. Army.Professor Kennedy has lectured and published extensively.  A few of his more recent books are The Road to War:  Congress’ Historic Abdication of Responsibility published in 2010 and Of Knowledge and Power: the Complexities of National Intelligence, published in 2008.Dr. Kennedy has been a Fulbright Scholar in Peru and a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council of the U.S.  He is recipient of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the Pentru Merit, Commander, awarded by the President of Romania, and Doctor Honoris Cause, National Defense Academy, Bulgaria.  He received his B.S. from the U.S. Air Force Academy, his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Georgetown University.
